We’ve been conducting Film Crew Safaris for the better part of a decade. These safaris require exclusive Film Crew permits, which can be had for the duration you wish, allowing access to remote and otherwise closed areas of the Serengeti and Ruaha for wildlife filming and photography. Our vehicles are set-up for solidly mounting fluid heads (75mm, 100mm, and 150mm bowls) in high, low and ultra-low positions.

These filming permits are key to capturing professional footage and are used by renowned videographers. We have highly experienced driver/guides for these safaris who have decades of experience working with Nat Geo, BBC and other pro wildlife documentarians.

Precise planning and protocols need be followed to procure and exercise these permits, but this is where our experience comes in and we have streamlined the process as much as possible. Please contact us with your plan and we’ll help with the script and permit application.

Please note: This is just a sample itinerary, the duration and dates are flexible. Also, these filming safaris must be approved by the Tanzanian Film Board, and planning at least 4 months in advance is reccomended to get approval. Bringing high-end video-specific cameras, such as a Red, Arri, Sony, BMD, or Canon Cinema into Tanzania adds a significant level of complexity with customs and the Film Board and you will be required to post a bond based on camera value. However, DSLR cameras that shoot still images as well as video are exempt form the bond requirement, so far.

The cost of the filming permits alone is $354. per day per person plus a $1000. application fee, however this per day charge includes the park entry fee and camping fee ($130) so the extra cost is $284. This film permit cost does not include the primary safari costs - ie. vehicles, guides and accommodations. This is priced for 2 persons and 8 filming days, plus an extra day to get set up in camp. We generally drive to and from the Serengeti given the extras gear associated with these filming safaris.
