Join Darren Bennett for this comprehensive workshop safari that offers exceptional wildlife photography from the Grand Kopjes Camp. Darren has been a professional wildlife photographer for over 30 years, including a substantial amount of experience in the Serengeti. He will be there to assist all the participants to capture great images by teaching fundamental to advanced techniques to all that desire. He will rotate between vehicles to spend time with all the guests.

This adventure offers an opportunity to experience and capture amazing wildlife and landscape images in the Serengeti, with an emphasis the big cats and the famous Great Migration.

Itinerary

Sunday 12 April - Depart Home
  • Day 1
    Mon Apr, 13
    Evening arrival at Killimanjaro airport, transfer to the Kibo Palace Hotel, overnight.
  • Day 2
    Tue Apr, 14
    AM departure driving to camp, passing the Ngorongoro Crater along the way. Arrive in camp in time for lunch and to get settled in - then depart for an evening game drive.
  • Day 3
    Wed Apr, 15
    Full day game drive / option to return to camp mid-day
  • Day 4
    Thu Apr, 16
    Early game drive to the NCA (Ngorongoro Conservation Area) for a full day game drive through the woodlands and southern plains.

    Fri Apr, 17
    Full day game drive / option to return to camp mid-day
  • Day 6
    Sat Apr, 18
    Early departure to the Central region looking for leopards and to shoot the beautiful Seronera Valley. All day drive, returning to camp at sundown.
  • Day 7
    Sun Apr, 19
    Am game drive, then rendezvous at a remote Kopje for a lunch catered from the main camp.
  • Day 8
    Mon Apr, 20
    Early game drive to the NCA (Ngorongoro Conservation Area) for a full day game drive through the woodlands and southern plains.

    Full day game drive / option to return to camp mid-day

    Our final short day afield as we drive back to Arusha. We'll arrive in Arusha in time for a relaxing lunch and afternoon at your hotel. An early dinner is included prior to transferring to the airport for an evening departure back home.
Sunday 26 April - Arrive Home

This workshop safari is extended to include additional days to explore and photograph more areas, including the southern Serengeti and Ndutu. (This requires paying double park fees) Every day will offer outstanding photographic opportunities - with the option to return to camp mid-day or stay out all day when the light and wildlife beckon. Our Eastern Serengeti Grand Kopjes Camp is perfectly located to explore remote areas in all directions.

From the the Grand Kopjes Camp we'll be within reach of the ever-moving Great Migration, a wondrous sight and experience in itself. Then add in all the big cats hunting, the abundant diversity wildlife and birds around every corner, and it's an overwhelming spectacle of nature. Our efforts will be concentrated in an area with the highest concentrations of apex predators in the world. This is predator central - with mass prey.
